We’re growing up! Or should I say, I’m growing up… And my company is following suit? Oh, one of the many perks of being an online business owner! Inevitably, as we go through life, we change.. evolve.. and grow into who we’re going to be. And when you own an online business, you have all the freedom in the world to change your business in the same way!

So, I’m presenting to you the new, improved and less “neon” Code Culture! Now, don’t get me wrong, I still love neon more than anything in the world, but my go-to design style has become a bit more simplistic (strategy is queen), and I wanted my website to feel like me again. (Business babes, I know you hear me!)

A little update on me

Over the past 6 months, my life has taken a huge and amazing turn. I’ve started a second company that I’m head over heels in love with, and built up an amazing team of go-getters who are getting healthier and wealthier by the day. (Mastermind, anyone?) I’ve taken time off to travel! In fact, I took 8 weekend trips in a row (Wowza!). I’ve been focusing on nutrition and cooking healthy food and working out daily. I’m competing in a 16-week body transformation challenge with thousands of amazing people from around the world! I invited strangers into my home to watch me present on how to live a healthier, happier life. I started working with some incredible new website clients, who are totally changing the face of online business and creating amazing results from the work we’ve done together. And best of all, I’ve scaled Code Culture! I’ve got a wonderful team of developers helping me bring my designs to life, which means you get your projects faster and I don’t have to work ’til midnight every night. Yup, it’s been pretty damn good!

Where my bookworms at?

During this time, I made it a priority to read as many books as possible, especially given that I have 2 business now and let me tell you, it made me face reality a few hard times! Being a business owner requires you to take a good long look in the mirror and ask yourself if you have what it takes… And if you don’t, are you willing to learn it? Are you willing to work hard, before things can get easier? Are you willing to accept the fact that you’re not perfect, and that you’re probably going to really suck at it until you get amazing at it? This is reality, friends!

It’s a fact that everything you could possibly want to do in life is already being done by someone. You want to get paid to blog about fashion? It’s being done. You want to start an online t-shirt business? It’s done, too. How about getting paid to write travel reviews from the world’s most luxurious resorts? Yup, that’s being done too! People build their own empires every damn day. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, why don’t you just start paying attention to someone who is already doing it? People are trying to teach us these things all the time, but we aren’t listening to them, mimicking them or even observing them. If you’re guilty of this, you’re making it way harder than it has to be. I’m not saying to copy anyone, especially creatively, but learn from them. Study their business model and their social media. Contact them. Learn their daily habits. Flatter them. Ask for some advice. What’s the worst that could happen?

In the meantime, take some time out to work on yourself.

You are your #1 asset when it comes to anything in your life, and being healthy both physically and mentally is going to help you to stay ahead of the game! Stay positive.. Thoughts become things. Use your words wisely. Wow, can you see how much self-development I’ve been doing? Haha!

I feel so amazing that I just have to share this with you. Here are some books I’d highly recommend if you’re looking to stay at the top of your game in business, your relationships and generally in life.
